Uzumaki (Blu-ray)

In the small coastal town of Kurōzu-cho, the residents begin to fall under the spell of uzumaki — the spiral — an obsession that warps bodies, minds, and reality into a slow, beautiful, irresistible nightmare. Based on Junji Ito’s legendary manga, this Adult Swim / Production I.G USA limited animated series adapts the source material with stunning fidelity: four episodes, produced in distinctive black-and-white animation by director Hiroshi Nagahama (Detroit Metal City), building a sustained atmosphere of dread unlike anything else in recent horror.
