Sonatine (Blu-ray)

A Tokyo yakuza boss sends a weary gangster (Kitano) and his crew to Okinawa to help mediate a gang dispute — which escalates into warfare, leaving them stranded at a seaside hideout where violence gives way to childlike play. Takeshi Kitano's most contemplative and formally distinctive crime film, building to a devastating final act.
