The Universe Smiles Upon You (Vinyle)

The Houston trio's debut album is a deeply evocative blend of Thai funk, psych-soul, and reverb-drenched guitar, recorded in a Central Texas barn and released in 2015 on Night Time Stories. Guitarist Mark Speer, bassist Laura Lee, and drummer DJ Johnson craft a transportive, groove-heavy sound that unfolds like a late-night drive through an unnamed landscape. A slow-burn cult classic that launched one of indie music's most singular careers.
