It Serve You Right to Suffer (Vinyle)

Hooker's sole album for jazz label Impulse! is one of his most unusual and celebrated recordings — an unhurried blues session backed by a jazz ensemble including bassist Milt Hinton, drummer Panama Francis, and guitarist Barry Galbraith. Produced by Bob Thiele in 1966, it pairs Hooker's hypnotic Delta guitar with a refined sophistication that never dulls his raw edge. This audiophile reissue is part of Verve's Acoustic Sounds Series, pressed on 180g vinyl from the original analog tapes.
