3 Feet High and Rising (Vinyle)

De La Soul's landmark debut, produced by Prince Paul and released in 1989, redefined hip-hop with its playful, sample-heavy collage of skits, jazz loops, and stream-of-consciousness rhymes. A joyful counterpoint to the era's gangsta rap, it gave birth to alternative hip-hop and the D.A.I.S.Y. Age ethos. Hits include "Me Myself and I," "Eye Know," and "The Magic Number." Selected for the Library of Congress National Recording Registry.
