Hajiki Uta (Vinyle)

Meiko Kaji — the actress-singer immortalised in the Female Prisoner Scorpion film series and sampled by Quentin Tarantino on the Kill Bill soundtrack — recorded Hajiki Uta for Teichiku in 1973, a record that distils her defiant, melancholic persona into twelve songs of haunting restraint. WEWANTSOUNDS' reissue reproduces the original Japanese artwork in a gatefold sleeve with OBI strip, and includes new liner notes by Hashim Kotaro Bharoocha. Essential for fans of Japanese cinema and the golden age of kayokyoku.
